As part of Seismic’s ongoing security and infrastructure enhancements, we’re upgrading the way your Microsoft 365 content connects to Seismic. All customers using our SharePoint sync application will need to move to OneDrive for Business sync to maintain uninterrupted access to Seismic content and analytics.
This Community post provides a central overview of the change, the steps to take, and links to live Office Hours and supporting resources.
🔒 Why This Change Is Happening
Microsoft is deprecating older SharePoint authentication methods. To stay aligned with Microsoft’s latest standards and ensure long-term stability, Seismic is moving customers to OneDrive for Business Sync.
This change provides:
-
Stronger security through modern OAuth authentication
-
Faster, more reliable syncs between Seismic and your Microsoft 365 environment
-
Improved content visibility and version tracking
-
Simplified library management for admins and content owners
✅ What You Need to Do
To make this as smooth as possible, your CSM has already provided customer-specific reports and guidance. At a high level, here’s what your team should complete:
1. Set Up the OneDrive for Business Sync
Before content can be migrated, your organization must connect Seismic to OneDrive for Business.
-
Follow the step-by-step instructions in the Migration Guide to install and configure the OneDrive for Business application
-
Ensure the appropriate permissions are granted so Seismic can connect via OAuth
You may need support from your IT team to:
-
Install the OneDrive for Business application
-
Approve / grant the required permissions for your Seismic integration
2. Review Your Migration Reports
Your CSM has shared impact report(s) that outline which content items are affected by this migration, such as:
-
📄 Content Impact Report for your Active Tenant
-
📄 Content Impact Report for your Sandbox Tenant is applicable
Use these reports to:
-
Identify which content must be migrated
-
Decide what to clean up, archive, or remove before the switch if you’d like to take this as an opportunity to audit content
3. Join Live Office Hours (Recommended)
To help you feel confident about the migration, Seismic is hosting recurring Office Hours with the Product team.
In these sessions, the team will:
-
Walk through the migration process
-
Review example reports
-
Answer customer questions live

Reviewed your content impact reports
-
Decided what to migrate / clean up
Your CSM has asked that you notify them directly (by replying to their email). They will:
-
Confirm your migration request with Seismic Engineering
-
Notify you once the migration is complete
📅 Timeline & Next Steps
-
Seismic is aiming to have all customers fully migrated by the end of February 2026.
